Student Accomplishments

Congratulations to Michelle Cuocci! She was selected as a soprano for the Division I All County Festival which took place on January 1, 2015. Michelle was also selected as a violinist in the Long Island String Festival elementary school orchestra for their upcoming performance on March 1, 2015. Additionally, Michelle was selected as the pianist for the  James A. Dever School Jazz Ensemble, which will be performing at Dorney Park on May 29, 2015. The faculty and staff of the Music Academy are so proud of Michelle's achievements!

Sarah Kinkel, an eighth grader at Wisdom Lane Middle School was accepted into the All County Music Festival for 2015. Sarah studies violin with Jessica at the Music Academy.

Fifth grader Michelle Cuocci was recently accepted into the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra (MYO) Nassau County Treble Choir. She will be performing with them at Carnegie Hall in May of 2015. Michelle has been a student at the Music Academy since 2009, and studies voice, piano and violin.

Andreas Petrides was accepted into the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra's Principal Orchestra and the All-State Symphony Orchestra. Andreas is not only an accomplished violinist but also plays jazz and rock guitar as a member of the Music Academy's Select Ensemble Program.

Joseph Damato received a Certificate of Recognition from the Elmont School District for his Outstanding Score as a participant in NYSSMA's 2014 Festival, where he performed a piece on jazz guitar.

Student AccomplishmentsCongratulations to Music Academy student Nic Mrakovcic for being accepted into Manhattan School of Music's Pre College Jazz Division! This is an extremely difficult program to get into, and a credit to Nic's hard work as a double bassist. Nic is also an active member of the MAGC Ensemble Program.

Student AccomplishmentsCongratulations to Molly Madigan who was recently accepted into the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra Treble Choir! Molly studies both voice and clarinet at the Music Academy and recently participated in the Music Academy Battle of the Bands Summer Camp.

Double bassist Robert Catinella will be playing in the concert band at the National Association for Music Educators NAfME National Conference 2014. He attends Massapequa High School and studies with Dr. Peter Coco at the Music Academy. In addition to playing the bass, Robert is an accomplished pianist. 

Student AccomplishmentsAndrew Burns, a Garden City Middle School student, was accepted into the "Nassau - Suffolk Performing Arts Youth Band" for trombone. Andrew studies with Chris at the Music Academy.

Student AccomplishmentsHugh Flynn performed in H. Frank Carey's variety show with his band The Individuals. He also received the Music Academy's award for Multi-Instrumentalist of the Year 2014. Hugh plays guitar, piano, and drum set.
